We are known as the Schenk Sharks and our school colors are teal and purple.
Shining Sharks / Student of the Month
Students are often given “Shining Sharks” by their teachers when they are showing these qualities: Safe, Helpful, A Learner, Respectful and Responsible, and Kind. Every month one student from each class is chosen as Student of the Month. To earn this honor, students must be a “shining shark” and leader in their classroom.
Students and their families love to come to our School Dance. We have great music, food and, of course, dancing!
Family Movie Nights
A great way to spend an evening with your family! We also have a few Movie nights in Spanish! Check our calendar for dates and movie titles.
The Book Kingdom
Book Kingdom is a fun and affordable way to buy books. Students will have the opportunity to purchase new books for $1.00 and used books for $.25. Book Kingdom is the third Thursday of every month.
End Of The Year Picnic
School families and staff come together for this end of the year picnic featuring outside activities like a water balloon toss, an obstacle course, races, community performances, and the Schenk Scramble! This is one of our students’ favorite days of the year!
PBS stands for Positive Behavior Support. The goal of PBS is creating safer and effective schools through community building and learning problem solving strategies for conflict resolution. It is a school-wide approach to educating all children using research-based behavior support systems. It includes school-wide procedures for teaching behavioral expectations and processes for decision making. Appropriate behaviors are recognized and celebrated through classroom and school-wide celebrations.
Whether it's walking to nearby Olbrich Botanical Gardens or a trip to the State Capital, Schenk students are always on the move.
